![]() Please let us know what you think wrong with the feature in this thread: However, we also know things are not perfect so we are listening very carefully to all the feedback that's coming in. I'm not going to lie, we are excited about the potential that game changing features like the Rocket can bring. On the other hand, some of you haven't been happy about the outcome so we clearly still have a lot of work to do. For better or worse, a piece of Foxhole history has been made, one that has been entirely crafted by the players. This also means that we have to give players the power to make real decision, both good and bad. In some ways the two rocket events yesterday were in the spirit of what we have always been trying to accomplish with Foxhole: dynamic situations and content with real high stakes instead of canned content that plays out the same every time. We've been really passionate about this feature and as a result probably a bit defensive about it, but understand that it's all coming from a good place. ![]() ![]() We knew there were plenty of design risks and technical challenges, but it was our wish to surprise you guys with one more feature you could be excited about over the holidays. The Ballistic Rocket has been one of the most difficult features the team has had to develop for Foxhole which is why we've been following the events so closely over the last day or so. I just wanted to let everyone know where the dev team's head is at regarding this situation. The Devs should put a plaque somewhere in Jade Cove to commemorate this dastardly event. We got taken out by a perfect storm during Christmas. The Jade Cove incident was the icing on the cake. The tide was already turning, due to a perfect storm of unfortunate events occurring all at once. ![]() They hit us hard at just the right time after we had already endured a series of staggering blows. The Collie blitzkrieg that followed was only exacerbated by the lack of Warden players online during the Christmas holiday. It divided the team and annihilated our morale exactly at the critical hour. It was the final straw but by no means the single event that turned the tide. the Jade Cove incident happened and that put the last nail in our coffin. By this point in the war, we were well on our way to misery. Then they nuked our facilities at Spade and that unnerved us even more. Our logi infrastructure was inundated by the plethora of new tanks. Our best field commanders became tank commanders and the infantry was left to figure out things on their own an infantry made up largely of new players brought in during the sale. That was the key turning point in this chain of events. It seems to me that we lost our momentum as soon as BT's became available to us. The Collies had been pushing us out of Westgate for two days before the strike. Truth is, we Wardens were already losing ground. We do not, however, deem this most recent event to be a case of griefing. Our team does have tools to reverse the damage done by what we consider to be malicious agents. In the meantime, for those concerned, there are measures in place to prevent griefing. This will be an event that we'll be referring to for months, if not years. I hope once all this has blown over, more of you will come to agree. What happened the last few days is incredibly cool. By the time we're done the V2 rocket may be little more than a plaything for the disorganized masses to squander. There will be more weapons, more tools of mass destruction. And that means owning the decisions of your team and making the best of it with what you have. Building facilities, Rocket-ing towns, and even Battle Tanks to some extent are, by design, meant to shape the war and world to your will. Our founding principles of this game were to enable players to make game-changing decisions. and so there will not be a single person who plays or follows foxhole that will not have heard of, or have an opinion on, this single act. Everything in this game happens in a single universe. but let's just take a step back and appreciate for a second what happened here.įor the first time in Foxhole history, a single decision, made by a small handful of players, shaped the whole game. Much can be said about this: the target, the resulting rage, the mechanics. A group of players, armed with a rocket, fired at and destroyed Jade Cove. Something happened today that shook the whole game.
